FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Little Tigers?
Edwardsville Little Tigers is a tackle football & cheer program offered to 5-11 year old youth in the Edwardsville area. Little Tigers is designed to develop youth skills and sportsmanship with the purpose of better preparing players for the junior high and high school football & cheer programs.
What Ages Can Sign Up to Play?
We have teams from Tykes (5 years old) up to 11 years old (11u team).
Does My Child Need to Have Experience?
No! We have athletes of all skill levels at every age group. From those who’ve never played or cheered to those who’ve done it since they were small. Everyone is welcome.
When Does the Season Start?
Optional practices start in June. Official practices will start in late July. Games will begin in late August. Games will be played on Saturdays or Sundays. Full game schedules are available after the Tri-County Football League sets the schedule – the weekend before Labor Day.
The season will culminate in November with playoffs.
What is Friday Night Lights?
Friday Night Lights is an event that provides our families time to socialize and learn who makes up our teams. Players, cheerleaders and coaches are announced to the crowd. This is a time to celebrate as the season is almost underway! Bounce houses, games and refreshments are enjoyed following the announcement of the teams and squads.
What is the Black & Orange Scrimmage?
Our Orange & Black Scrimmage is our season opener. It’s a family friendly time where our Little Tigers face off against each other to prepare for the season. The event is held at the EHS Sports Complex. Concessions are available. Admission is typically a dry or canned good donation that benefits our Ed-Glen Food Pantry.
LTF Scholarship
We know that money can be tight and want to make sure every athlete has the opportunity to participate. This is why we give our scholarships every year.
